Review of The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) by Vincent C — 26 Mar 2015
It's bleak and cynical, and that's probably why it's a turnoff for so many people. But I objectively believe that the film is excellent and perhaps exceptional, from the characters, writing, directing, acting, social commentary, subtext, and raw emotions.
The Man Who Fell to Earth is a poignant view of homesickness, grief, love, heartbreak, greed, and pain, and Roeg binds these elements with tremendous skill.
