Review of The Man in the Iron Mask (1998) by Kyle W — 25 Jul 2009
L'homme au masque de fer. What do you do when the King you have given your whole life to, sacrificed & bled for turns out bad & is nothing more than an evil, selfish, corrupted, power-hungry megalomaniac? You replace him with his twin brother Phillipe whom the King banished to prison forever with his head locked in an iron-mask.
The 3 musketeers (Les Trois Mousquetaires) Aramis (Jeremy Irons), Porthos (Gerard Depardieu) & Athos (John Malkovich) , "All for 1 & 1 for All!" (tous pour un, un pour tous!) come out of retirement to fight cruelty, injustice, power-corrupted King Louis XIV (Leonardo di Caprio).
The best part is, another musketeer D'Artagnan (Gabriel Byrne), the Captain of the Guard, who never retired is the father of the twin boys with the Queen. Tres interessant! Grace a Alexandre Dumas pere pour cette histoire.
Based on a take on a true life story.
