Review of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) by Jens S — 22 Jul 2017
The movie reboot of the classic spy TV show both benefits and suffers from its director's trademark style. Split screen, odd music choices (which sometimes aim a little too close to Tarantino's style), quirky banter between characters, it all works for some of the scenes.
In others it feels like style won over substance and it stops you from getting excited about things. Overall, the film is pretty entertaining and especially the actresses deliver memorable performances.
But with Richie a little less jerking off to his own style, this could have been even better.
