Review of The Man from Nowhere (2010) by Aidan H — 11 Jan 2011
Smouldering dreamboat Won is more than just eye candy in this ambitious action drama. As an ex-killer for a dodgy government agency gone to ground, his mesmerising performance is both moving and physical, especially in the rare but expertly choreographed fight scenes.
But TMFN's biggest plus, besides its enigmatic star, is its cinematography which, despite depicting life's darkest moments, captures its subjects and their surroundings in nuanced textures, rich colours and artful compositions.
It's rare to find such a successful blend of drama and action within one movie. The Man From Nowhere is as close as it gets.
