Review of The Man from Nowhere (2010) by Alex C — 08 Nov 2012
Another Korean Movie from 2010... Here's what I don't understand.. Why name the movie "Man from Nowhere" when the title of the movie is "ah-ju-shi" which is the generic word we call an older man? oh well, that's not that important.
The negatives of this movie is that the directer tried so hard to combine elements of a movie like "Taken" and incorporating concepts of a Korean Movie and a John Woo Film, that the storytelling got convoluted at time.
The positives were that the shots and camera work is always excellent (like most gritty Korean movies), the acting from the main character and the little girl was top notch, and the action scenes were (like stated above) was taken straight out of "killer" or "hard boiled".
.. very entertaining overall if you like these types of movies... Highly recommend if you had an urge to watch this movie.. "Ah-Ju-Shi" is another notch in the belt of well made Korean Movies in the last 5 years! Go Korea!
