Review of The Man from Earth (2007) by Ob E — 09 Nov 2011
Fantastic idea, very well done and thought through for the most part, and extremely well played by Dave Lee Smith in my opinion. However, the other characters supposedly intellectuals and his best friends, were the most irritating and awful detractions from what should have been an excellent film.
Quite simply, I spent the majority of the film wanting arnie to walk in a gun a few of them down so that we could actually enjoy the film without their inane ill thought through and aggressive stupidity.
It really didn't make sense at all in the context of such a thoughtful premise. Big shame, as it was a great idea and still manages to work, but this despite being hampered by some atrociously out of place and annoying characters.
