Review of The Man from Earth (2007) by Darian J — 30 May 2014
One of my favorite movies of all time. This may sound strange, but I've watched this probably between 20 or 30 times (thats not something I just do) I don't know why this movie hit home for me or what it is about it that I find so obsessively fascinating, but there is no movie I've seen more times in my adult life.
The first time I watched this felt like I was reading a book. The entire film is shot in one location (pretty much in one room actually, let for a few scenes), there's no action, no romance, no special effects or visuals, or even any significant camera work; it's just a story being told.
So what's so special? I'll tell you: the story. The key is actually imagining the story as it unfolds, and furthermore, imagining "....what if?" Now wouldn't that be something.
