I finally got the chance to see this film via netflix streamed through the wii. i've been waiting for years because a high school friend is the "man from earth" and does a good job as the 14,000 year old man living in contemporary times.
the story explores the "what if" in a credible and thought-provoking way. the characters were all a bit caricatured. still, each brings at least some of the questions, prejudices (and outright bigotries), expertise, answers and doubts of their respective fields and/or belief systems.
one hopes that after 14,000 years a person would be good and kind above all else. nice twist, as well.
