Extremely smart idea. if you find your friend is actually a caveman who has been lived for 140000 years, what would you do? perhaps he has just lost his sanity? or you think he is making up a story?
With the plot unfolded, more and more's revealed, and even more surprising the story is.
Though there are still quite few arguable parts in the plot, but in general it's smart, and they have a very interesting point of view on religion.
