Review of The Man from Earth (2007) by Tor M — 09 Dec 2013
This is probably the widest, but still most limited film I have ever seen. Few people, in a hut, one single night with very few variations. Few effects of any sorts and just loads of talking.
The strenght here is the talking. The script is amazing and brilliantly smart. I'm not feeling all the content here, even if it turns out pretty smart. In a way it's aiming for a huge audience with it's choice, an audience it maybe should have stayed out of - i'm not totally sure here though.
Neat acting, nice pace and a great development. Educational, engaging and not like any other sci-fi.
Give it a go, and be surprized how much a great script can lift a rather dull movie.
8,5 out of 10 fireplaces.
