Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Sergio M — 19 Oct 2008
A gripping and simply told story. The film is set up in the first few scenes but this doesn't stop us from delighting in what we expect to come. Bogart is astonishing and is well backed up by Lorre and Greenstreet.
All involved made better films but it is hard to deny this film's influence and blueprint for so many film noirs to follow.
