Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Jeremy L — 14 Feb 2009
A noir classic that solidifies how cool Humphrey Bogart is. Sam Spade is a sarcastic, overly confident private eye who nevertheless has his own moral code, and watching his attempts to uncover the truth about his new client and the connection she may have to the death of his partner is fascinating.
Topping it off for me is the opportunity to see one of my favorite character actors, Peter Lorre, appears in this, one of several collaborations with Bogart.
