Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by James R — 28 Mar 2009
Don't Bogart the Falcon, bitch! Mary Astor is not very impressive in this. The movie is mostly Humph being sly and bad ass. Sydney Greenstreet has some good lines while Peter Lorre goes between seriously dangerous and charmingly humorous.
Story is complex but comes together in an unpretentious, non condescending way.
