Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Silas P — 20 Apr 2009
Seeing this again one is reminded that this must be some of the fastest dialogue ever delivered in an American production. Bogart excels as the jaded private detective and with his casual naturalness makes acting look easy.
Its hard not to be impressed with his Sam Spade, even though the character displays dubious qualities a number of times. His premature death deprived the art of one of its finest masters but luckily his talent remains timeless in this superb production.
