Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Jennifer S — 07 Mar 2011
I think watching this movie is the first time I've really understood the power of Humphrey Bogart. He's just...such a man. I'm not sure I followed the plot the whole time, but watching Bogey deadpan lines like "When you're slapped, you'll take it and like it!" and "Yes angel, I'm gonna send you over" was a pleasure.
In fact, I felt like this movie WAS Humphrey Bogart. Without him I don't think I would have enjoyed it half as much (though Peter Lorre is awesome too).
