Review of The Majestic (2001) by Jen F — 29 Aug 2011
It's very rare when I don't finish watching a movie - but such was the case with The Majestic. The movie is simply too slow, too boring, and too long. Peter Appleton is a down on your luck screen play writer in Hollywood during the 1950's.
When he is accused of being a communist he loses his job and his relationship. He drives into Northern California only to get into a car accident where he gets amensia. He walks into a town where is mistakingly misidentified as a war hero - who people thought had died.
Since Peter has amensia he doesn't realize the mistake. So that was an hour and half into the movie and I couldn't take any more. Not really sure what happened after that and I don't really care.
Just a bad movie all the way around.
