Review of The Magnificent Seven (2016) by Marc K — 24 Oct 2016
An average western through and through. there are good guys. there are bad guys. there is revenge. there are guns. Ironically the most boring part of the movie is the far too long final battle scene that will have you yawning as the 50th faceless cowboy gets shot and slumps to the ground or off of his horse.
Chris Pratt tries his best to inject some charm into this movie, playing an alcoholic cowboy that has some great solo scenes that play off his charisma. The longer runtime helped flesh out some of the secondary characters so the packed cast didn't feel as claustrophobic, but some certainly still felt unnecessary.
