'The Magnificent Seven' is a by-the-numbers action flick featuring an acting ensemble mostly in their comfort zones. Yet, this assemblage brings forth a slice of collective charm, guided by Fuqua's inventive yet excruciatingly long set-pieces.
The climax bears no surprises (the Afro-American, the Mexican and the Indian being the last ones standing!).
