Review of The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) by Pavandeep S — 12 Apr 2008
A very depressing film as it goes along, a display of the fall of a family. I really liked how the main character is by source the link to everything, which always gets us to see from his perspective even if the camera point of view is not always from him.
Also, the directing is splendid, with details being alluded to and the shots very well devised. The dialogue here is by far the best of any Orson Welles film in my opinion.
