Review of The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) by Matthew T — 26 Jul 2008
A brilliant film, though it could be better. Concentrating on the positives rather than the negatives, the sets were phenomenal, the lighting and camerawork superb and the acting fantastic. The development of themes and backdrops (expanding towns, mans evolution, the changes due to motorcars and communication) were all really interesting.
Very cool movie.
