It's a wonderful but extremely sad movie! I can't believe there were such Laundry places like the Magdalene Asylums where 'fallen women' were abused and treated like animals. Watching that movie made me realize there was no difference between the prison and the Magdalene Asylum. Yet, at least one is allowed to talk in the prison as oppose to the Magdalene Asylum.
This is my third favorite Irish movie! The other two are 'Angela's Ashes' and 'The Butcher Boy'...
