Review of The Madness of King George (1994) by Jose P — 19 Jun 2007
Unlike most pompous british films about the royal family, this one is enjoyable even if you aren't British. It looks at the concepts of madness (obviously) and the nature of an archaic system of goverment through both great comedic segments and powerful dramatic ones.
It's also worth mentioning that Nigel Hawthorne, who I'd never heard of before, offers a dynamic, powerhouse performance, playing both the clown and the tragic lunatic. Highly recommended.
