Review of The Machinist (2004) by Don S — 13 Dec 2015
I am always pleased when a movie is much better than I expected. This psychological thrill is intense; the director really knows how to build tension and let a story unfold. Christian Bale, an actor I have been lukewarm about, pulled off an unbelievable transformation, both mentally and physically, with this role.
This also reminded me of my affection for the talented Jennifer Jason Leigh, whom I've always felt was underrated in the world of actors. This move is special.
