Review of The Lovers (2017) by Jonathan B — 14 May 2017

A searingly awful waste of time. The near-plotless script can't be more than 10 pages long, yet it's spread over 90 tedious, frustrating minutes, during which the annoying (and paradoxically overdramatic) orchestral score never stops its incessant bleating.

We learn next to nothing about these two characters or their illicit paramours, nor do we care. Both Winger and Letts are terrific actors, and they do their best with this wafer-thin material. But trust me -- despite bafflingly positive reviews by the serious critics, you do NOT want to watch this piece of crap.
