Take a book I love. Give it to a director I love. Can't miss right? Wrong. Misses wide right. Jackson seems like he's doing a Terence Malik version of The Lovely Bones but with more attention to visuals and less to story (is that possible)? This was a good story (the book) -- this should have been a good movie.
It just isn't.
