Review of The Lovely Bones (2009) by Pat T — 26 Sep 2015
I just finished the book, and the movie does not do it justice. Although, you can't blame it. There were many characters in the book, with so much character development that they could not fit into a 2 hour film.
The characters they did focus on, however, were fantastic and the actors with their respective roles. Stanley Tucci portrayed George Harvey Phenomenally! And as well as Saoirse Ronan did as Susie Salmon and Mark Wahlberg as Jack Salmon, this movie falls very short of something spectacular.
Like I said, The Character development in the book is extremely heavy where as the movie, it's not nearly as weighted down. If you haven't read the book, and like thrillers you will enjoy this film.
That being said, if you HAVE read the book (as I have) and then watch the film, you will be slightly disappointed, but still watch a pretty good movie.
