Review of The Lovely Bones (2009) by Ross V — 24 Nov 2015
The Lovely Bones would have been an absolute failure if it weren't for Jackson's stunning visuals and Stanley Tucci's impressive supporting role as the creepily perverted George Harvey. The movie, like the book, takes itself too seriously, thinking it's offering meaningful observations on life and death, family, grieving, and societal evils, when really it feels like we've watched a movie depiction of a high schooler's philosophy paper after smoking a few joints.
