Review of The Lovely Bones (2009) by Anthony G — 27 Aug 2016
The "Lovely Bones" was a very ambivalent film. It flabbergasted me with it's dazziling imagery, but some of the main elements (mainly the plot) spiral down into a deep dark hole and stay there.
The CGI sequences were very romantic and provided a sense of tranquil and comfortability, but they were interrupted by a banal human world that is both unrealistic and thoughtless to the audience. It does have beautiful characters that try to erase the film's flaws, but it just doesn't seem to work.
The level of enjoyment was unexpectedly high for me, which is why The Lovely Bones was not as disappointing as you think.
