Review of The Love Witch (2016) by Will K — 15 Feb 2017
The Love Witch gets points for being a very different film, and an ode to older occult films. Samantha Robinson is hypnotizing. I found myself appreciating the feminist angle, and laughing at some of the campy scripting and acting that was done very originally.
I was hoping for some more wild and bizarre cuts or sequences within the film, but all in all this is quite a notable piece from director Anna Biller. Three giant fake eyelashes out of five sacrificial altars.
