The sets are impressive, the T-Rexes still look good (the baby is frickin adorable), and Jeff Goldblum and Vince Vaughn are good in their roles (the only smart ones in this film). Everything else is pretty bad.

Most of the characters are either morons or assholes, most of the deaths happen off screen (in the first films most of the deaths happen off screen as well but you still felt the impact of them, you never felt cheated like you constantly do here), the script is bad, and the film has a message that it tries to shove down our throats (it made me quite angry, plus the message was stupid anyways).

The film tries to replicate the excitement and thrill of the first movie, but never succeeds. You never feel any danger here, or awe, or wonder, or (obviously) any thrill or excitement. In fact, it's actually pretty dull and even a bit boring.

This sequel is really really dumb. It starts out with some potential, and it feels like it could be a good adventurous and darker take on the franchise, and while it is darker it's still unsatisfying and unfulfilling.

It's a bad film. When the film tries to bring back the 2 iconic themes from the first film at the very end (that's right, the two iconic themes are curiously absent for most of the film) it made me angry because the film had not earned the right to use those themes at all.

My one word synopsis: No. Just No.
