Review of The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) by Seth S — 13 Jul 2012
Can almost be slightly compared to the original. Almost slightly. The Lost World is once again directed by Steven Spielberg. It has the Spielberg feel, but the movie just isn't very good.
The story...more dinosaurs, another island, Malcolm goes to the island. Stuff happens, must escape island, must save daughter and girlfriend. Given this, the movie's action scenes aren't bad. The story just seems kinda bland. Nothing new here.
The only actor of mention is Jeff Goldblum returning as Ian Malcolm. I love his portrayal. So sarcastic. Also, look for a young Vince Vaughn before he became a comedic actor.
Overall, the action/chase scenes are fun. But the ending flat out sucks (T-Rex in Los Angeles) but the lead up isn't bad. Watch if you must waste time.
"Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming." 6.5/10.
