Review of The Lost World (1925) by Brent R — 15 May 2008
A wonderful and seminal film in so many ways... The first feature length film based on dinosaurs, the first feature length use of stop-motion animation, based on one of the fundamental archetypes of antediluvian fiction, the pattern for every jungle adventure film - like "King Kong" (1933), "Tarzan the Ape Man" (1932) and "King Solomon's Mines" (1937) - that came after it, and a rousing silent film of retro-Victorian guys in pith helmets facing down Charles R.
Knight dinosaurs in 3-D.
