Review of The Lost Weekend (1945) by Tom D — 04 Jul 2007
Considering it was made in 1945 this is a very realistic and unflinching portrayal of alcoholism. Being a Billy Wilder film it has razor sharp dialogue and is gripping throughout. Even the enforced happy ending doesn't manage to take away it's bite.
