Review of The Lost Weekend (1945) by Brian S — 04 May 2009
A very powerful film. great writing and great acting, with very effectual scoring and cinematography. my only complaint is that while this is a poignant and strongly tragic film, it doesn't embrace its tragedy as fully as, say, a similar film made 25 years later might have.
nonetheless, an intense dramatic effort from Wilder that really hits home.
