Review of The Lost City of Z (2017) by Mohammed A — 03 May 2017
An overly ambitious film that survives on the strength of its story, acting, and cinematography. It's quite a long movie, but somehow needs more time in order to address everything about Percy Fawcett's fascinating life (capture brilliantly by Charlie Hunnam).
There's a beauty in a movie that attempts to convey such incredibly large themes and ideas, but it is difficult to do it all. Overall, though, a film worth watching.
