Review of The Lost City of Z (2017) by Gregg C — 13 Dec 2017
James gray keeps his perfect record intact: once again he has delivered a perfectly boring film.
It takes talent to turn a dramatic story from a great book into a snoozefest.
Also charlie hunman is spectacularly miscast. I really like him as an actor but his performance (perhaps guided by Gray) is simply one note and his attempt at naturalism comes across as disinterested.
Mystery. intrigue. history. adventure. action. are expected ... boredeom was not.
