Review of The Lost City (2022) by Injureddriver — 30 Aug 2022
I didn't necessarily have high expectations for this movie, however considering it does have a pretty good cast and I do enjoy a good popcorn adventure / comedy flick, I am a little disappointed that it was sub par.
It had it's comical moments however much of the humor felt overly "modern" and a bit cringe. Also, being a modern Hollywood movie, you'll never believe it, but there's a bunch of woke dialogue slipped into it throughout it's run-time.
Lines about being a "feminist" or western colonization, yada yada. Some of these lines are delivered comedically so could be excused while others really felt unnecessarily forced into the movie to subliminally push "the message" (as Critical Drinker calls it).
