Review of The Lost Boys (1987) by Robert A — 03 Aug 2011
Vampires, the 2 Coreys, humor, and a lot of other familiar faces. I'd say this and Near Dark are in a vampire battle for my favorite vampire film released in 1987. They are quite different. This one had more humor.
More people have seen this one. On Flixster this has around 250,000 ratings while Near Dark has around 22,000 ratings. I think the cast probably has a bit to do with that. As far as movies go they are both pretty great, and for different reasons.
It'll take me a few more watches of each to decide which I'd prefer. At the moment I'm content in calling it a tie.
