Review of The Lords of Salem (2013) by Dustin F — 16 Oct 2013
The Lords of Salem swelled with haunting visuals and practical effect that were atmospherically potent. The theme was constant and terrifying and the unique style of Rob Zombie was able to shine through, even if it did seem a bit toned down.
The excessive swearing only popped up a couple of times, but was used to enhance the scenes rather than only for shock value. Overall, the idea of the film was great, the direction the film took was spot on (a couple of brilliant scenes in the film that sent shivers down my spine) the music was the perfect blend of offsetting imagery and sound, and the comparisons between religions were strong.
I give The Lords of Salem a 4 out of 5.
