Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) by Anthony K — 05 Jul 2014
Overlong (no surprise) and far too melodramatic for its own good. What differentiates this trilogy from Star Wars, when viewed with a retrospective lense, is that this film is too CG-heavy to hold up well this many years later.
It's clearly a labor of passion and love - and it clearly blew people's hair back in 2004- but I simply just had a very hard time sitting through it.
