Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) by Nelson P — 17 Jul 2014
For a while, I was convinced that this would go on to be the best film I had ever seen. The continuing quest for Frodo to finally rid Middle Earth of that One Ring has reached its inevitable climax and what a climax it is! Clocking in at an insane 3 and a half hours, you have breath taking visuals and cinematography, excellent acting, fantastic pacing, and that one moment when the collective world holds its breath for the final fate of all middle earth in one last battle for all that's good.
Although the ending(s) may go on a little too long, for a film that has told a single story in the span of a trilogy, this marks the end to one of cinema's greatest achievements. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is absolutely one of the greatest films ever made.
Ever.
