Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Raphael Georg K — 06 Apr 2013
9 strangers ... a mission ... SAVE THE WORLD. That's how I describe this movie. and what kind of movie is this? Simply a MASTERPIECE full of adventure, action, friendship, and the beginning of the best trilogy ever made. The vision that Peter Jackson (director and writter) have of Tolkien's work is fantastic. Gives us a huge world full of magic and mystery, about to be the stage of a journey that will change the destiny of all forever.
On one side we SAURON, master, ruler of evil, demand for "A RING", a simple and small ring which is the source of his power. Long lost and found by a sinister and dangerous creature that loves the small relic of heart. What is lost again, and found the creature less improbable ... a HOBBIT (imagine an adult the size of a six year old), where they now have in their hands destination worldwide.
The actors in this film are simply a fantastic job, all embody their characters in the highest perfection. Ian McKellen embodies GANDALF, and the legendary sorcerer BADASS of film history; Vigo Morteseen the renegade king, Elijah Wood the LORD OF THE RINGS hiself, or in this case "the ring". And the entire cast does an excellent job, where everyone does their job in this epic adventure to save the world from the darkness of Sauron.
With fantastic scenery, an incredible maguinetude, a soundtrack that always differs from scene to scene and character to character, and an engaging story with unforgettable characters that convey feelings of love, friendship and partnership.
A movie that I recommend to all people, full of pure entertainment, a film that will make you laugh, cry, and jump off the chair several times.
