Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Jay L — 18 Mar 2013
"THE LEGEND BEGINS..".
Epic. Gripping. Masterful. Visionary. Author J. R. R. Tolkien's hugely epic and mystical prehistoric adventure has finally been brought from the pages of the books to the big screen. Director Peter Jackson has outdone himself, The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring is absolutely jaw-dropping. An astounding piece of iconic craftmanship that is a complete optical paradise unlike any other. A groundbreaking and award winning film that boasts some of the most astronomically astonishing special effects ever put into a film. An eye-popping eyegasmic story that is legendary in it's craftmanship, storytelling, and cinematography. It's the start of a tremendously riveting and vividly sprawling adventure. Fiercely entertaining with imaginative landscapes, fierce battles, mythical creatures, and anything else that's beyond our imagination. A true vessel of Tolkien's vision which stands as a testament and a landmark for cinematic achievement and milestones.
An epic film needs a talented and enormous cast. The film stars Elijah Wood in a career performance, Sean Astin who is brilliant as well, and Ian McClellan who is as always brilliant. The film also stars Viggo Mortensen in a great performance, Liv Tyler who is great, Cate Blanchett, John Rhys-David, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom, Hugo Weaving, and Sean Bean. The acting is flawless all around from a star studded cast that gives in their all, as a group they are astounding. Breathtaking.
A true work of cinematic magic that is beyond your imagination and wildest dreams. A masterpiece that goes above and beyond.
