Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Danny O — 13 Aug 2015
Fellowship of the Ring is one of the most thrilling and creative fantasy movies I've ever seen. The inventive and incredible universe of Middle Earth is so beautifully realized using brilliant special effects.
Jackson assembles one of the most perfectly cast movies ever, every actor brings their A game. The characters are all fantastic and the audience is given protagonists they can really root on. The soundtrack perfectly suits the film, with countless memorable tracks capturing the grand and epic battles and the smaller dramatic moments.
. For a 3 hour movie, the plot moves along smoothly, never losing your attention. It is brilliant, captivating, and entertaining. The action sequences are excellent, with CGI that still holds up to this day.
The villains are menacing and the story telling is top notch. We care for the characters and the emotion conveyed in this movie feels genuine. Overall this is a flawless film that inspired me to become a movie buff, and it is endlessly re-watchable.
