Review of The Lookout (2007) by Brenton A — 06 Aug 2008
A surprisingly intelligent and crafty thriller considering the youth of the major characters. I could have done without the flashbacks to earlier points in the movie where seemingly mundane lessons suddenly achieve relevance - I prefer to reach those conclusions on my own.
But the flashback to the moment of the accident in the main character's moment of crisis is full of emotional turmoil and is just about perfect. I somehow felt uplifted by the superb cinematic value despite the intense tragedy of the moment.
