Review of The Lookout (2007) by Tristan F — 16 Mar 2009
Nifty neo-noir about a bank janitor with brain damage that is talked into participating in a robbery by a smooth talking crook (an impressive Matthew Goode). What could have been basically a polt device with the lead character's inability to remember details is turned into a character study by Joseph Gordon Levitt's superb lead performance.
Great comic relief and emotional support from Jeff Daniels playing Levitt's blind ex-con buddy, a cross between Obi Wan and a Shaggy Dog.
