The Lookout isn't as slick as some robbery films, and lacks action that others have, but it doesn't go for either style. It boasts extremely good character development, not just from the lead, but also the villain, and the supporting protagonist.
JGL does a magnificent job of portraying a complex and original main character, one that the audience cannot help but to understand and pity.
