Review of The Lookout (2007) by Yee-Yin Y — 25 Dec 2012
The film is a fargo-esque bank heist - slow to start but gathers steam and builds atmospheric tension towards an unexpected ending. It's also a story about the 3 Rs: redemption of the soul, recovery of the mind and body, and the return to life and society.
Undoubtedly one of JGL's best acting efforts - he evokes the perfect blend of broodiness that is part loneliness, part mental confusion, part cry for help.
