Review of The Longest Day (1962) by Rick M — 01 Nov 2007
Until "Saving Private Ryan", "The longest Day" was the film that best captured the events surrounding the invasion of France. Told through the eyes of key individuals and men on the ground, this film catalogues the events of June 6th from the night before to the late afternoon, and tells a series of vignettes of the people who made the liberation of Europe possible.
With an all-star cast and exciting battle scenes, "The Longest Day" is a must-see for war movie buffs and fans of epic films altogether.
