Review of The Longest Day (1962) by David Jones — 18 Nov 2008
Not a bad film for the time it was made. Has a good cast with John Wayne, Robert Mitchum and a small role for Sean Connery. I liked how they showed the Allies and German's side of D-Day. They seemed to capture D-Day the best they could with the film technology in 1962.
Though some of the characters played down the killing and the shooting around them making it seem they were never in danger. Otherwise I would have given this film a higher rating.
